Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Global Learning Movement

1. What is the Global Citizen Passport — and why should I join?

  • The Global Citizen Passport is a free, volunteer-made tool that helps you lead conversations and grow as a global-minded leader — at school, work, home, or in your community.

  • Use it to:

    • Take initiative — start meaningful conversations in your workplace, school, home, or community.

    • Build skills — Practice leadership, listening, and reflection.

    • Make an impact — Inspire others and be recognized for your efforts.

2. What is the purpose of the Global Citizen Passport Toolkit?

  • The toolkit is designed to help you lead meaningful conversations and grow as a global-minded leader. It’s built around 9 core values of global citizenship:

    • Curiosity, Global Awareness, Critical Thinking, Empathy, Communication, Collaboration, Initiative, Responsibility, and Impact.

  • The passport page guides you through a conversation or reflection that helps strengthen one of these values.

3. Who uses the Global Citizen Passport?

  • Professionals — Practice leadership and communication skills. Get recognized.

  • Educators — Help students lead, reflect, and grow through global topics.

  • Youth Leaders — Lead conversations and earn volunteer hours and certificates.

4. Do I have to lead? What if I just want to guide a conversation?

  • You can start by guiding — and grow into leading.

  1. If you’re new, use the Passport to guide simple conversations and reflections.

  2. As you gain confidence, step up to lead your own sessions or group discussions.

  3. Both are valuable — the journey is yours.

5. Why do I need to print the Passport? Can’t I just ask my own questions?

  • You could — but the Passport gives you:

  1. Structure — A ready-to-use format anyone can follow.

  2. Connection — A shared tool used by a global community.

  3. Tangible value — A physical passport makes the experience real.

“Like running — you don’t need a tracker, but it helps you stay focused.”

6. What’s the purpose of the reflection survey?

  • The reflection survey helps us:

  1. Measure personal growth — What people are learning and doing.

  2. Improve the experience — Refine questions through user feedback.

  3. Tell the bigger story — Show the collective impact of global learning.

7. How is this different from other social campaigns?

  • This isn’t just awareness — it’s action.

  1. It’s a tool — Not just a message, but something to use.

  2. It’s ongoing — A journey, not a one-time campaign.

  3. It’s user-powered — Anyone can take part and make a difference.
